Wolf Blass Bilyara Chardonnay 2017 (12 Bottle Case)

A bright, fresh Chardonnay with an aromatic bouquet of peaches and nectarines complemented by hints of soft, spicy oak. The palate is medium bodied, with juicy fruit flavours of citrus and white peach and a crisp, lingering finish.

Named for Wolf Blass's first land purchase, Bilyara is the Australian aboriginal word for eaglehawk.

Tasting Notes: COLOUR: Pale straw.
NOSE: Bright tropical and stone fruit aromas are complemented by soft hints of oak.
PALATE: A medium-bodied Chardonnay with fresh tropical and stone fruit flavours, enhanced by subtle, creamy oak and a lingering finish.
Vineyard Notes: A wet winter was followed by a windy, cooler and wetter than average spring. Along with cool nights in early summer, this markedly slowed ripening and delayed harvest by about 4 weeks. Hot weather in mid February and early March progressed ripening, after which nights were cool through to end of harvest. Overall wine quality was good, with bright fruit freshness.
Winemaker Notes: Matured for three months with French oak.
Food Pairing: Bilyara Chardonnay is great with chicken Caesar salad, or pumpkin and leek tortellini with sage burnt butter.

Peak Drinking:
Best enjoyed while young and fresh.
