Wolf Blass Bilyara Shiraz 2017 (12 Bottle Case)

Wolf Blass Bilyara Shiraz 2017 (12 Bottle Case)

Soft and approachable, this fruit driven Shiraz has a lifted nose of blackcurrants and dark cherries, with a hint of subtle oak. The palate is medium-bodied, rich with red berry flavours, and has a generous, lengthy finish.

Named for Wolf Blass's first land purchase, Bilyara is the Australian aboriginal word for eaglehawk.

Wine Profile
Vintage: 2017
Wine Type: Red Wine
Varietal: Shiraz
Acid: 7.0 g/L
PH: 3.58
Residual Sugar: 6.1 g/L
Alcohol %: 13.5%
Tasting Notes: COLOUR: Medium to deep red.
NOSE: Lifted aromas of blackcurrants and dark cherries with rich spice and subtle oak.
PALATE: A medium-bodied palate rich with red berry flavours, supported by subtle vanillin oak and leading in to a soft generous finish.
Vineyard Notes: A wet winter was followed by a windy, cooler and wetter than average spring. Along with cool nights in early summer, this markedly slowed ripening and delayed harvest by about 4 weeks. Hot weather in mid February and early March progressed ripening, after which nights were cool through to end of harvest. Overall wine quality was good, with bright fruit freshness.
Winemaker Notes: Matured for four months with American and French oak.
Food Pairing: Bilyara Shiraz is great with lamb burgers with beetroot relish, or beef, Shiraz and rosemary pie.

Peak Drinking:
Best enjoyed while young and fresh.
