Wolf Blass Bilyara Chardonnay 2016 (12 Bottle Case)

A bright, fresh Chardonnay with an aromatic bouquet of peaches and nectarines complemented by hints of soft, spicy oak. The palate is medium bodied, with juicy fruit flavours of citrus and white peach and a crisp, lingering finish.

Named for Wolf Blass's first land purchase, Bilyara is the Australian aboriginal word for eaglehawk.

Tasting Notes: COLOUR: Pale to medium straw.
NOSE: Fresh aromas of peach and nectarine are complemented by hints of soft, spicy oak.
PALATE: A medium-bodied Chardonnay with fresh fruit flavours of citrus and white peach, enhanced by subtle oak influence and a crisp, lingering finish.
Vineyard Notes: A very warm spring affected fruit set and slightly reduced yields, however the vines adapted well. Heavy rains and some hail in January caused little damage, and the following cool, dry February weather, and warm conditions in early March, created ideal conditions for steady, even ripening, which led to an exceptional vintage despite early challenges.
Winemaker Notes: Matured for five months with French oak.
Food Pairing: Bilyara Chardonnay is great with chicken Caesar salad, or pumpkin and leek tortellini with sage burnt butter.

Peak Drinking:
Best enjoyed while young and fresh.
